Knee pain can be crippling. Luckily, this knee stretch can open up range of motion and alleviate debilitating pain.The technique comes courtesy of Jill Miller, creator of Yoga Tune Up and Author of The Roll Model. The stretch is one of our favorites because it can be performed by anyone anywhere. The only equipment you need is a single dish towel.
Begin by folding the dish towel and placing it behind the knee, high into the joint. Set the heel onto the edge of a chair, couch, or block. Gently squeeze the knee, contracting the calf muscles and hamstrings. Repeat on the other side. This exercise works because it creates space in the knee.
